This image is from two nights for a short time that it was in the window of view.

CEM25P mount controlled remotely with MiniPC

Canon t6s Modified, Baader sky and moon glow/ has IR/UV bock
52 lights 120s @ISO3800
No flats, darks, or bias.

Here is the link for source if you want to edit.
This is a straight stack, crop, and colormetric profile.

This is just a raw stack out of siril.  No crop or anything.
Enjoy :)

very fine result! applause.gif

Is this taken with your RC6?

Why didn't you take flats...I make them the next morning, photographing a white wall in my house. smile.gif 32 frames with ISO 400.

You seem to have rather dark skies, because of the good colors in your stack file:

Here's my result, using your data, only processing with fitswork and a little bit old Photoshop CS 4 (from 2008!). Only a bit brighter than your result.

I have the same filter as you, it is a fine filter for light-polluted skies in Yellow and Orange!

A gorgeous image!  It's amazing how low the noise level is -- no reduction needed whatsoever.  And I like your choice of colors -- not exaggerated.  Maybe soon I can get something 1/5th as good as this.

I took a stab at editing the TIF.  Not much to be done.  In Siril 0.99.8-1 (MacOS), all I did was a background color calibration and auto histogram stretch.  I couldn't get photometric color calibration to work; maybe I just don't know how to use it correctly.  Then in GIMP, I just adjusted levels and saturation a bit.  I was going to post my edit here, but it ended up looking almost the same as yours lol.gif

There was considerable vignetting, so I tried Siril's background extraction.  However, that simply reversed the pattern (too light around the edges), so I backed off of that.  Like hobbyknipser suggests, I think this image would benefit from flats.  It's hard to tell where the faint nebulosity trails off and the vignetting begins.

Nevertheless, a stunning image of a stunning object!  Looking forward to more!

Yes this was taken with the RC, I didn't integrate the flats with this image because when I do, it comes out worse. I barely did any processing and I could have done false flats but I was trying to be a pure as possibible. The image was dithered every 5th image which substantially removes a lot of pattern noise and hot pixels.  In my area we have mercury, halogen, and led, it's a mix, so it is a pain for sure.

Thank you !!

Clear Skies.

Lot's of vinetting.  Ugh..   Trying to remove it takes away more than it helps.

Thank you !!

Very nice looking!  waytogo.gif

In the linked source file, does "colormetric profile" mean you have already altered the colors?  So not the raw stack?

Yeah, sorry, I had already applied the colormetric profile for the target, but I can upload a raw stack. :)

Great shot. Loving the various coloured stars and of course the nebula. Really nice work.

Thanks!  I was going to say no don't worry - looked like a pretty fine job of processing to me.

But since you went ahead, I won't be able to resist a practice run, as this target is on my short-list of ones I'd really like to acquire.  Will download once I can get to my processing laptop.  smile.gifwaytogo.gif

EDIT:  Is this your RC6?  Man, I keep looking at the stuff Elf is doing with his RC6/8 and a DSLR, and salivating...

Yes, this is an RC6, but mine was a refurb, and hand to remove the spider vanes and remove some kind of protective coating that was on the mirror, but it did take a while to figure out.  While I did get it collimated, I have to say, Elf has the RC tuned better than mine..

I really love the RC, just wish it was a bit faster, like f6 or f7.

Give the stack a go.  I'm about to post my Iris nebula that is about 15-17hrs integration and just looks like pooh.  I really love capturing and love post work but definitely lacking.

Thank you !

Hey that came out great! I took a shot at processing here. I realized (later on, of course LOL) that I hit too heavy with arsinh in Siril, I should have backed off some, but I soldiered on regardless. I miraculously got Siril to do photometric color correction, but the result I thought was a bit warm. Gradient removal worked pretty well in Siril I thought. Took a trip over to Starnet so I could process the nebula a bit on it's own, and I gave everything more contrast overall. Shrank the stars a bit too. Not sure why I got that color in the nebulousity, probably has something to do with arcsinh. Next time I'll hold off on the arcsinh bottle. grin.gif

That was fun, thanks for some cool data! bow.gif

I do need my nebula practice.  And less than 2 hours of integration here?  I'm thinking the mod camera is rather useful here.  I just went out with the binoculars to check a few stars - this would be a tough one to the south.  Too many power lines in the way, so I have a fairly short window, that doesn't even start until about 2am.  frown.gif

Unless I move the mount over to my alternate "Omega Centauri-shootin'" spot.  Which is already drift aligned.  Hmm...

So I went a bit light on the HDR and sharpening enhancements here, leaving things on the soft side.  But, since you guys were milder on the colors, I bumped that up.  Which was still throttled back from the starting point saturation ST had it at though.  For sure had to show off those big light blue stars.  Really some great color all around you captured here.  In the gradient wipe I also used an artificial flat, so that didn't end up being a problem at all.  I suppose I could have gone darker - there's room on the left of the histogram - but I just kept it as is.

That looks great to me.
I keep going back and forth from way way over contrasted sky and atomosphere killing to pale more whispy, but I think as I evolve I'll be able to get the two.

I am really liking the colors you got out of it.  A lttle NeoN-ish, bright, but I really like those deep saturated colors.

Thanks for giving it a shot !
