Why are M72x1 extension tubes so rare, if non-existent?

Or.. even M54x0.75 would work.

I'm trying to mate the QHY268M+FW to a FS128.

I have a CA-35 which brings M72x1 to M54x0.75(female).
I figure I can add a M54 male/male adapter and mount the camera+fw solid... no 2" nosepiece needed.

(Downside tho is this OTA does not have a Camera rotator, but I'm willing to deal with that for the time being.)

However, I need to add a bit of spacing so the focuser doesn't have to be racked out so far.

(Those focusers aren't exactly rock-solid, and I'd rather not replace it at the moment.)

Any idea?

thx

They exist, Teleskop Austria has them:

52 mm TKA23250
38 mm TKA83205
32 mm TKP83002
17 mm TKA31581

Bernd - thx for the reference.   I'll hunt around for those in the US.

Btw.. I happened across a 1.5" long focuser tube extension from an LXD55 8" Schmidt Newt in my box of random adapters.

It turns out that extension seems to cleanly thread into the CA35 M54 threads.
So.. that might be a solution.

I will still need a male/male M54 adapter and one is on order.

I searched a bit, and it is possible the Explore Scientific focuser tube is M54x0.75.

Tho I could not find a spec on the draw tube threads.

I'm sure there are used "Meade extension tubes" out there...

Upside would be this would be a bargain compared to the TAK equivelent.
