Autofocus in SGpro 1x1or 2x2 binning

I was watching a YouTube video.  Does it makes sense to do an SGPro autofocus with 2x2 binning even though I am doing 1x1 bins.

2x2 is fine for autofocusing.  The minimum point on the V-curve is the same regardless of binning.

I use 2x2 as well, and in fact SGP specifically says the following (the bold is their emphasis, not my addition):

 

 

 

Unless you have a specific reason not to, use 2x2 binning

 

If you have a motorized focuser and are using their autofocus algorithm, I strongly recommend that you read that section of the help file. It discusses the steps needed to set the proper step size for the algorithm. If you just guess at your step size, then there is a good chance that the algorithm won't work well for you.
