Some results from "breaking in" a new scope (first in about a decade!) - Borg 107FL F3.9.  Miraculously nice weather for imaging considering the traditional new equipment curse.

I was just think about how you going to break in a new scope, by gazing at it intensely for a few hours to clear up the optics :)

I like that!  Can I quote you?

Ow...just the title makes me cringe.

"Breaking" is not a word synonymous with anything good associated with astronomy!

Breaking in my hiking boots took maybe 50 miles.  Maybe the equivalent is shooting 50 deep sky objects before the scope has gone through "breaking in"?
