Good day AstroFriends,

Does anybody knows why Flex Rx software (add-on to Metaguide) can 't be downloaded?.

I tried Chrome and Edge and both say "Download Blocked,  virus found".

I tried downloading it from here:

http://www.astrogeek...xRX/FlexRX2.htm

anywhere else i can download it from?.

thanks a bunch

Javier

What antivirus software are you running? On my PC, the zip file downloads fine; I am using Panda antivirus.

A lot of software gets flagged as potential virus if there aren’t good stats from many downloads. The main thing is to know that likely no actual virus was found in the file. There are other sites you can use to check a given web site using many different virus checkers instead of one.

Addendum:

The metaguide download site at https://smallstarspot.com/metaguide/ has a link to VirusTotal at https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url that you can use to check for a virus via a large number of virus checkers.  A simple and fine file may trigger warnings in a few, while all the others say it's ok.

As always - it's up to the user to decide what to do.  But this a way to get more information and guidance.  The main thing is - unfortunately some virus checkers scream virus when all they know is - they don't know the file well.  It doesn't make things easy for those of us who are freely offering software to the community - but I don't think that factors in their profit model.
