I have a 6" ACF Meade LightSwitch with a small problem with the alignment procedure involving the inability to skip blocked alignment stars outlined here:

https://www.cloudyni...stars-question/

I'm generally loath to do firmware upgrades due to both personal experience (mostly bad) and well as testimony (ditto), especially for a relative minor issue but I would like to fix this issue.

I see there are dozens of posts and replies for getting the proper firmware and doing the upgrade but instead of wading through them all I'm wondering if someone has a condensed version, specifically with where one gets the upgrade and basic tips for installation. I have the proper chip, came with the scope with what I think is the old firmware on it (but hard to tell from what the computer says is on it).

Thanks

I answered this in another thread

Follow the instructions in the README file that is in the zipped package.

It is critical that you copy file in the exact order specified. If you make a mistake you MUST reformat the card and start over.
Erasing the files will not work correctly

I settled on the Opticstar solution, described here:
