84x120s ISO3200 Canon t6i Full Spectrum Modded, Baader Moon and Skyglow filter, mounted on RC6 with CEM25P Mount.
No Flats, Darks, Bias, and Dithered Every 5th by PHD2, APT, on Tripod mounted MiniPC full remote.
Stacked and processed in Siril and Photoshop.

I decided to go for a more natural look that show the Cygnus star cloud and some faintly revealed dust lanes..

Hi,

very nice result! waytogo.gif

Did you use the photometric color calibration in SIRIL?

Again, I would make some flats the next morning at a white wall in the house and add them to the lights. This calms down the background and the post-processing is a bit easier...  Taking flats last nearly 5 min here in my house: putting the telescope on the table towards a wall, exposing 32 flats at ISO 400 (normaly 1/30 to 1/80 sec). That's all.

cheers

Andreas

Very nice. I like the subtleness. Very understated but very nice.

Thank you !!  Making flats is really easy for me, just I hate having to process my images Twice, to see if they effect what I want them too in the stack.  Often that just hasn't been the case for me, so I am looking for alternative ways to process.  They are supposed to help remove the gradients, but for me they haven't made the difference, what has made the difference is capturing more light on the subs in the way of higher ISO an/or Exposure time, and pulling back the darks instead of bringing forward the lights.  It's a yin yang push pull kind of thing.

So I did incorporate my flats at first and they really didn't do anything to the image except remove some of the distinctive look when shooting a very light subject.

What do you think the Darks should be doing to this image that is maybe lacking ??
Thank you..

The target has a lot bright areas and dark areas but there really wasn't much for "deep darkness" and didn't want to pursue that direction.
I like the dark/red brown dust and lighted areas.

Thank you !!

Clear Skies !!
