Saturated colour highres moon from half hour ago.

I could get addicted to doing these. I was a bit more careful about colour balance.

CPC Deluxe 1100 Edge HD, Baader UV/IR, ZWO ASI071MC.
Firecapture, Autostakkert, The Gimp.

Really nice, Con. I was wondering why you were posting the same image twice before I realised this one was from the next night. :)

Are you using filters to produce these colours, or are they solely done in Gimp?

I could get addicted to doing these.

Just these...? lol.gif

Thanks Andrew. I only get a small window for capturing the moon at my current place where I've polar aligned my tripod and don't want to move it, but we went for an evening walk and came back and the sky looked beautiful and the moon was right in the window so I just had to capture it.

When the colour balance is correct, I just turn saturation up to 10. That's it.

Haha, well I'm already addicted to the planetary imaging. The beauty of the moon is it takes me just 5 minutes to capture, stack, and process, and the thing is up in the sky year round lol.gif The lunar eclipse was a bit of an imaging disappointment for me without the right equipment too.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have another go.

It is nice to be able to capture the whole disc in one go, it gives me more justification in keeping my DSLR and BackyardEOS going. There will be another almost total lunar eclipse in November this year, and another one a year after that.

Still looking forward to the big one in 2028, worth a trip to Sydney smile.gif
