I've done this event about 4 times.  They used to have 2 nights of public outreach, one at the top of Cadillac Mountain, one at another location, both very well attended by both amateur astronomers and viewing guests.  I thought it was a great event.  But looking at this year's schedule, it says there will be no star parties (the term they use to describe the events) this year for a number of reasons, only some of them related to Covid.  Does anyone know what happened, what non-Covid reasons there might be for cancelling these events that seemed wildly popular among both the presenters and the guests?  And will they remain permanently cancelled?

If you can get in touch with the ranger in charge of interpretation you will get all your answers.
