This is a bit of a self promotion and an opportunity for those of you who are doing serious asteroid astrometry or photometry. The Planetary Society is now taking grant applications to help you with your research through their Shoemaker NEO Grant program.
I have been doing asteroid photometry now for nearly 20 years and have had the good fortune of receiving several grants from the Planetary Society to fund my work over the years for items ranging from automation equipment to new cameras.
If you spend most of your time and personal money to do research on near earth objects and have had some success at it, consider submitting a proposal to the Planetary Society. The grants can cover equipment upgrades for private individuals and professionals alike. See the link below for examples of the kind of work they support. The last day for submissions is July 28, 2021.
In a related vein, I was recently interviewed for this weeks Planetary Radio podcast and radio program about my recent grant.
If you have any questions about how to apply or write the grant, feel free to contact me or reply here.
