For astrophotography, will the Starizona .63 corrector get a stock C8 close in performance to the EdgeHD 8 with it's focal reducer.  

 

Also was reading the EdgeHD whitepaper and the table listed the 8" HD as having a 42mm image circle. Is that a misprint, because I think the baffle tube is smaller than that.

Standard C-8 is 38mm rear opening.

At F10 my EdgeHD 8 covers a full frame sensor. At F7 with the Celestron 0.7x reducer it covers a APS-C sensor.

Have not tried the Starizona reducer but have heard it works quite well. Although I don’t think you can use it for visual.

I have ordered the latest Starizona reducer for the C8 and will see how it compares to the Celestron 6.3 reducer.

Rab722, have you tested the Starizona reducer yet? I want to buy one myself for my C8.

I have ordered the latest Starizona reducer for the C8 and will see how it compares to the Celestron 6.3 reducer.
