Where your UO Circle-T multicoated?

Yes. They stated ‘Multicoated’ on the volcano top body of each ocular.

I just picked up an EDSCORP 18mm Ortho at NEAF, so I think I did well. The barrel has Japan with a T in a circle etched on it. Volcano top. It's solid and heavy for it's size. My first orthoscopic eyepiece.

Wow! First light for this ortho (and for me first light for any ortho) last night with views of the moon and a few doubles, most notably Algieba. Bright, sharp! Unlike my newer complex wide field eyepieces, you see a definite circle around the view, but I didn't mind it at all. In fact, it was kind of cool.

I paired it with a Televue 2.5x Powermate. This makes a tidy eyepiece. In my 10" Dob, this gave me about 176x. I could make out the craterlets in Plato and other similarly small features. Everything very sharp! I don't know the FOV of these, but with the eyepiece alone in the dob (76x), the Moon barely fit in.

I'm a new convert and will be getting more orthos in the near future.

Seems like a nice addition, Will.

Kitakaru RPL:

https://www.astrosho...jkxMDU3NDQ2MA..

It looks like that the Kitakaru RPL Orthoscopic eyepieces are designed by Kitakaru Observatory and manufactured by Long Perng. Unlike traditional Abbe orthoscopics, which typically have a 42° apparent field of view (AFOV), these eyepieces offer a wider 62° AFOV.

The field stop has been measured at 27,1mm (Don's guide). Could this eyepiece be an alternative to the UFF 24mm, Pan24, ES68 24mm or ES62 26mm to get Max TFoV in 1,25" format?

Has anyone used this ortho and can share some feedback?

Glad you like it Will. Had a feeling you would.

I say go-for-it! If the siren song of a set of orthos is calling, why not give in, and give them a try. Eyepiece choices are not set in stone forever. I see my eyepiece case as an eyepiece apartment complex. Some tennants have lived there for decades, other have come and gone in fairly shot time periods. Amazingly, I've had very few move out in the past decade. The tennants I have now, are all ones I'd want to keep.

Whatever you decide, enjoy.

I had a set of Fujiyamas and a set of Tak Orthos. Both are great, but seemed duplicative.

So I was torn but sold the Fujiyamas.

I have the TPLs now, and pairs of the Tak orthos for binoviewing.

I never compared the Fujiyamas to TPLs directly, but comparing to Tak orthos, the TPLs are ahead.

I thought about getting pairs of TPLs and selling the orthos, but I want to keep a set of actual orthos.
