Nice review, Neil.  The Carson sounds like a fine value option; the $155. price here is very attractive.  Quite light, too, at just over 22 oz.

Based on the review I picked up a pair, paid a bit more then the reviewed price but hey its Canada + 13 % sales tax also, only had them a less than  day day so still reserving judgment, also weather is very bad, we had a Tornado touch down in the area , chaos rules at this moment, Dave.

I was wrong about the regular retail price, it was in sterling I thought it was US dollars, so it in fact worked out about the same, should have noticed that being an ex-limey blush.gif , Dave

Here,s what I found with daytime use of the reviewed Carson binocular, eye relief is tight  with glasses on, I suspect I,m just  losing a bit of the FOV unless I press the eyecup hard to my face, other than that I found pretty well everything Astroneil said to be about right, optics are OK ,probably good for the price, I suspect other budget binos may do better for just a bit more money, say the Celestron Nature DX ED , also the latest version of the Diamondback HD is hard to beat at the under $300 price point, night time will have to wait till we get a clear night, Dave.
