My first Jupiter of the year is here!

Jupiter20210721-Neptune-M-1SCNs.jpg

16" Dobson+5X+Neptune-M(IMX178)camera and LRGB filter, in Bin2 mode to take the very good results.
That night, seeing was excellent. I captured many videos with two cameras, Neptune-M and Neptune-C II. Neptune series is really more suitable for the 16" Dobson +5X (>9000mm) focal length.

This is the last set of the night, 3AM, finally captured Jupiter's Great Red Spot!

16" DOB + 5X powermate @ 9000mm
Neptune-M (IMX178) camera, BIN2 mode
LRGB filters.

Lum: 10000frames, stacked 25%
RGB: 3000frames each, stacked 50%

Beautiful images! bow.gif

How are you tracking Jupiter? Are you are using a goto Dobsonian with tracking? If so, are you using an equatorial platform as well?

Regards,

George

Hi George,

I use goto DOB for tracking, and tracking performance is not very well. Luckily, Neptune-M has 1/2 inch sensor, I can hold the jupiter in capture area. If I use 1/3 inch camera, I think I need an EQ platform or put the telescope on a EQ mount.

Thanks, man. Now, there are a few cloud bands on Jupiter, not quite obvious. I wish God would get a stick to stir it up lol.gif

I use 2078*2078 area, and BIN2 mode. Tracking is not very good, I need more space for manual adjustment.

I think the monitor problem. I will try another monitor to adjust color balance.
