Hi I just took home a 16" goto dob. Just finished building it and my goal is to start imaging Venus and the other planets. Can anyone recommend a way to move this around aside from the wheeley bars? This thing is so heavy.40efbe4662dd8ac469179493934f8f51.jpg

Something like the link above would be good too I think, assuming the sides go down (which I think they do). I have something like that for my astronomy gear for when I want to haul it off to somewhere beyond the garden, but it comes in so useful for lots of things.

This sort of thing might be good too?

Which bit of that is Celestron btw?

I have the Orion Branded version and move it with the base intact although it's quite heavy.

Disassembly is a better option although more time consuming.

????   No.  Skywatcher and Orion, both Synta Companies,  use the SynScan system to control their GoTo Mounts.

Celestron, though they also source their products from Synta, use the Nexstar system for GoTo.

There is absolutely Nothing from, or by, Celestron in your scope!  Celestron hasn't sold Dobs in 10 years, and never sold a GoTo dob.

If anything, you have a Skywatcher 16" GoTo dobsonian by Synta!

When I took the scope out of one of the boxes one of them was labeled Celestron. Either way it doesn't really matter to me if it celestron, skywatcher, orion, etc. The point is I have an awesome 16" goto dob at my house

Did you buy the scope new or used?  If used, that would explain the use of non-original packaging.   If brand new, you REALLY need to call the Dealer/Vendor, because there IS an issue!!
