Another morning in which I had an hour and a half before I had to login to work and the sun is brimming with activity.

Seeing conditions continue to be below average but only 30% clouds as the morning started.

This time, I streamed my imaging session with my astro club. Although the hour is not the most comfortable for most people, I had 5-7 participants and for some of them it was first time they see the sun. Lucky for us, the sun dressed up for the occasion.

We observed the following areas:

AR2846

AR2842

AR2847

AR2848

A Plage which I believe to be AR2845

AR2844 (which I fail to image)

Was a very intense hour with all these features and a lot of fun.

Equipment - TS-Optics 125mm F/7.8, Daystar Quark Chromosphere, ZWO ASI183MM

Seeing - 2-3/5

Transparency - 6/10

First image - AR2846. Fantastic activity on the surface and on the limb. The image is a composite of limb and surface. Both came from images taken 1 minute apart with the same exact setting and focus. My first attempt of such manipulation, not liking it too much but had not choice this time.

A zoomed out image of both AR2846 and AR2848. Less proms details but I love the wider field of view:

Moving to the lower part of the sun, I came across AR2847
Only after processing I noticed sunspots. Also very nice activity on the limb

An a bit saturated inverted false color version:

and, an attempt to to give the image the feel I got from looking through the eyepiece - a failed attempt as the activity on the limb was totally gone.
Might try to mask it next time. Still, the active area itself is very interesting

The Plage AR2845. Had to crop most of the image out as half was to bright and the other half was too dim

Tried to give it a very reddish and warm color

Last but not least, AR2842 with its fantastic structure of spots and small proms.
I struggled a lot to process this image, no idea why and the result fell short from my liking.

Thanks!

There were more areas which the quality of the images was bad but I can't complain smile.gif

No! don't do that :) images are nice but they cannot replace observations.

But, if by any  chance you do want to return all your stuff, I will send you an address :) no such thing as too much astro stuff

What a harvest! Very good selection here, love that active region 2842 and 2846.
