For solar imaging, I currently stick a large box in the trunk of my car to shade my PC.  Very inconvenient and I am looking for a better solution.  I see many commercial items on line, but it is difficult to rate them against one another.  Would appreciate any suggestion as to what might be working for those of you capturing solar images on your PC.

Hi,

If going mobile or in the field, look at those pop up outhouse style tents. You can put a table and chair in there.

Very best,

Look out Jordan, this subject can become a slippery slope.  I recently purchased a Winnebago with this purpose in mind.  I want to make window shades and set the scope up on the kitchen table.  Have a Heliostat outside feeding the sunlight into the scope...

So after this I think I will temporarily park the camper pointing South and point the scope out the window. It will work from sun-up to about 11am, yea, that will work.

I purchased one of these.... it works so-so.  It would be more useful using a hood (it has a pullover head cover, but I've not used it) or by adding an anti-glare screen protector to the PC screen.

Actually have one and with the pull over it works well.

Another thing I use is a box from 24 pack Corona Extra bottles.  Cut the top about 1/4" in from the edge with a knife and left one side attached to make a door.  Painted the inside of the box with flat black spray paint.  Slot along one side for USB and PWR access.   I also took a 4x4 foot dark colored light blanket and attached a space blanket, the shiny ones, using double sided tape to one side.  I toss that over the box shiny side out, then pull the blanket over my head while looking at the laptop inside.  I use the blanket pretty often by it's self.

I use a small plant grow tent strapped to a foldable table.  I reversed the fabric so the black outside is inside for better dark on my UHD monitor.
