Many manual 5x filter wheels, but only electronic 7x filter wheels?

Since I'll generally be narrowbanding from super slow Bortle 9, there's not really much need for me to electronically schedule my filter changes mid-session and I feel an EFW is rather overkill.

My standard payload will be RGBSHO+Empty so a 7-position wheel is required.

I've found many manual 5-position filter wheels, but absolutely no 7-position manual ones. Every 7-pos I've come across is electronic.

Any pointers to slay this mythical beast, or is it just YABNCN* situation?

I like manual FWs too and also cannot find any manual ones on the web with more than 5 positions so I bought a second one and loaded SHOL on the first and LRGB on the second. Bummer!

Astromania has a manual 9 position filter wheel on Amazon. They also have a standalone website but couldn’t find the link with a quick search.

Disclaimer: I haven’t used their products so I can’t say if they’re good but, for that price? wink.gif

I have an astromania laser collimator. I know, only mildly related, but it's a data point for the brand.

The collimator came in perfect collimation (I checked), which is great.

But it has no collimation screws that I could find, so I'll have to hope it never goes out of collimation.

So... mixed feelings.
