Upgrading the crappy, weak, good-for-nothing stock springs with new ones from Bob's Knobs!
It doesn't sound very exciting, but for $16 you can transform your telescope to one that needs collimation far less frequently and stays collimated. I'm amazed at the difference. Tonight again I took the tube out of the closet expecting to have to collimate it for viewing Saturn, and nope. It's perfect. Especially when you're a beginner, collimation seems like such a confusing and daunting task.
Anyway, just wanted to throw this out there for those who are starting out.
