After much wailing and gnashing of teeth over my ASIair Pro setup, it turned out that simply swapping the power cable sorted any problems I had. Last night, therefore, gave me an opportunity to give my new FRA400/ASI533MC/SXD2 Mount combination its first test. What a nice way to celebrate the return of technical night at my latitude!
Now, I know this is objectively rubbish, but I had fun, so I don't really care! However, I would like to learn so why are the stars so big on this shot? Is it the result of an undersampled image? Is it poor tracking (the shot was guided)? Is it my processing or could it just be one of those things?
For the record, the shot comprises 10 x 5min exposures, stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, using a gain of 100...whatever that means.
Thanks for any advice!
