The feedback is real, but that seller's account has been hacked. The kind of stuff and prices of the things they sold doesn't match what's currently listed now. Like Gary said, the real seller is in Germany but the current bogus stuff is not. Also, The delay shipping notice is to buy time before a buyer gets wise.

Yeah, I knew it was a scam/hack from the get go, but figured it was worth posting to elicit all of the reactionary posts with their many great methods for detecting this type of scam. Never enough reminders to remain vigilant.

**Items have not yet been removed from EBay; I wonder how long it will take them to pick up on it?

Same seller has an old 8" Starfinder. I messaged him about both, no replies.

He is finally responding that yes it is still available....

95 dollars for the 8 inch Meade is attractive....maybe you should take a ride out to Long Island?

It's Pons's 8-inch f/19 triplet...

He made the 8" himself and rescued the 6" from a demolition crew and restored it.

Wow! How about that!? I never thought I’d see the day that Ole’ BB would part with that one but I certainly understand it having thinned things out considerably myself. And he sold it at a very fair price indeed. Bully for you JW! Never look back! waytogo.gif

Jon is a perfectionist, and designed and built some truly spectacular telescopes.  When I first met him at RTMC in the mid-80s, I thought he was arrogant, though very outgoing.  As I got to know him, I realized he had every right to be proud of his work.

Thanks Terra!  Been dreading & avoiding the Serious Down-Sizing of my Keepers for a long while... gonna be an empty spot in my man cave -- 6336 sat there for years.  I could see the Mogey 3 through the doorway to its left, both aimed at about the same place in the sky...

En Re  the Ad for the Sears 6336  that sold..........

And who could forget the  wonderful thread   "The Battle Royale at the Swamp"

where both the Sears 6336 and the Unitron 142 fought it out?

Maybe we all let go of a keeper every now and then.....

10" f/6.5 on Springfield mount in Derby, England for £180. I found the included documentation rather amusing.

Does anyone know of a missing C14 and a couple grand in Televue accessories in the Ozarks? There’s something really off about this ad.

JW, when you go through everything for the big move that’s quickly coming up, it will be interesting to see what comes up as keepers. You might surprise yourself as I indeed did. I’m quite happy with my outcome but it was a process that took some time. I wish you luck. If you’re like me, you will breathe a sigh of relief when it’s done.

But them huge mounts would cost as much as a house today.

Seller is parting-out a nice Mizar 80M EQ Kit...

- OTA:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=d1006669286

- SP Mount:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=c1006672492

- Tripod:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=t1006667918

Lens looks great.  I'd love to put one of these (same as the A-P Guide Scope @ $600) up against my Outstanding 1980s Celestron (V) C80P.

Rotating Focuser??  Kenko ED60 F8 APO:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=n1005015496

Cosmetic issues, but the lens is in much better shape!  Could be an interesting scope...  Too Bad that I'm down-sizing -- this is one I'd like to put up against my FC-50...

I think I posted this one before...  Kenko G-SCOPE 540 (60 F9) OTA:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=x1005059668

An over-night soak in hydrogen peroxide would clean that lens, but this is one scope I'd expect to sell for maybe $60 on our CN Classifieds.  I think the Seller is hoping for (at least) double that amount...

I think a CNer on the Refractor Forum was looking for one of these...  Takahashi FC-100N:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=p1006233467

Lens needs work!  About 3.5 Days left...  Wonder if it'll top $1000??

Nice!  1986 Takahashi FC-65 Kit:  https://zenmarket.jp...de=m1006424911

Vixen SP-FL-80S Complete Kit:  https://zenmarket.jp...ode=j1005885553

I don't absolutely need one, but I wouldn't mind having another SP mount.

But what's this covered spring tube for? hmm.gif

This axis uses a worm and gear and they are usually only seen on tangent arm movements.

Chris,

Wild guess is it may be a reticle illumination for the polar scope.
