There are some info I found on the internet about paying CNY to Alipay ID through wise, it looks like a new service.

It's much cheaper than other ways, and most important, it really works.

Just for your info:

Does anyone know if this would be compatible with the ProMediaGear TR424L?

Also, is the Supermount tripod available without a column and if so what would it take to adapt this column to it?

reason for edit: grammar

I also thought about a combination of the heavy duty geared column and the Supermount tripod.

But I think the adaption will not be that easy.

Only the Supermount tripod with column looks as if the head would be big enough to take the heavy duty geared column, the heads of the other versions do look to tiny to me…

But will this tripod be available without column?

I do  it know…

Also I do not have dimensions of the heads to see if it might be possible to adapt.

Does anyone know more than us?

Jochen

We have a designated carbon fiber tripod under way. I have not tested it so no comment now.

Please note due to significant rise in international shipping cost recently(up 50% or more)and dollar depreciation to RMB,the price has to be accordingly adjusted, please add 50 usd or 200 rmb to the total.

This does not apply to paid orders.

It looks very big all together, what is the weight of the column and the legs? (or total weight) ,and what is total height with folded legs?

The column is about 5kg.
We don't have an estimate of the leg, But I believe it is about the same level.

Please note the shipping is much slower than usual due to current situations. It may take one month or longer to arrive.

For tracking the progress of the shipment, I am using https://chinapost-tr...com/track-trace.

Last step was a 9 hour flight from Shanghai by China International Airlines. "The plane arrives in the port".

And my WISE payment was handled as a cash advance by the credit card company incurring a 5% fee. Still worth the RMB payment discount offered.

That's what mine says. A 9 hour flight out of Shanghai arriving in an unnamed port in an unnamed country. What kind of tracking service does Post China have?

And it's been sitting there since the morning of Dec. 6th, almost two weeks ago with no sign of movement. I wonder if this is a failure of US Customs or if China Post has a huge facility that they just stuff everything in until they can get around to it?

Sorry I have searched every parcel and they are all slower than expected, but I have little control over the process after dispatch.

Had a discussion with a China Post Representative today, he told me nowadays it is much more difficult to book a direct oversees flight, it is normal to expect a delay and the time efficiency cannot be guaranteed.

I used to use the premium SF Express, it usually took about a week to US, but the recent cost has risen to 1500+ rmb for the full parcel. I cannot do it anymore without increasing the price further.

Please be patient, and be at ease, the parcels are insured. I will keep an eye on them.

BTW, 5% fee is insane, that's higher than what paypal charges me receiving a fund(about 4.5%).

I totally understand this is not your fault. I'm simply stating my displeasure with the failures that seem widespread since COVID hit. And this observation actually started years before COVID happened, COVID simply accelerated it.

Thank you for your watchful eye!

I received my column today and naturally is clouds and rain for the next few days.

So far everything looks good. Can't wait to test it under the stars!

Hi range,

Regarding the pairs of button head cap screws that secure the bearings, what is the procedure for tightening/adjusting these?

You have to be careful with these screws.

Tigthening them too hard can cause breaking the tiny bearings.

This is no big problem, as you can buy these bearings cheap at Amazon.

I am tightening them until the column has no more play.

Best is going round the column in this process several times and acting smooth.

There is no need to give them any extra pressure.

Jochen

The tracking number for mine shows it cleared customs in Los Angeles, CA on Monday and delivery was expected in 4 days (based on the average speed of other similar parcels) but there hasn't been a single movement update in 3 days. I wonder if there is a way to get the USA tracking number now that it looks to be in the USPS system?

Use the china post tracking number on the usps site.
