This is my third observatory build. In 2008 I built an Exploradome observatory. I enjoyed the dome, but when I moved and wanted another observatory, I was lucky to have Backyard Observarories with Scott and company build my ROR in 2017 (build #249). Now jump ahead 4 years, and I have moved again.
I wanted another ROR and Scott at BYO agreed to build another one for me (build #320). This latest build has been over a year in planning. With Covid and the housing boom here in NW Montana, trying to get anyone lined up for the prep work has been difficult. But finally after many months, the concrete slab for my 16' x 20' observatory is complete, the electric conduit run from my house to the observatory is done, although getting the electricians out here to hook up the electricity is a month out. This project has been a test of patience, but I know it will be worth it.
So this past Wednesday Scott, Diane, and Bob arrived to start the actual build. It is amazing to watch them work. Their work is truly art in motion. Anyway, here are a few pics showing the build in progress. I will continue to post pictures as the project progresses.
