Thinking about building a back yard observatory.  Lots of trees, so gotta get up high, like 25 ft.  Anybody familiar with the Doane Observatory at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago?  https://www.adlerpla...ne-observatory/

Seems like that style "dome" would be a pretty easy DIY. Basically a cylindrical wedge.  Could build a frame/cage out of steel or aluminum tubing, cover it with steel siding. Kinda cool looking?  Obviously scaled WAY down..Thinking maybe 10' or 12'' diameter.  Thoughts/suggestions?

Thank you for posting.  This looks like an easier DYI option than a true dome observatory. I like it

Certainly easier than trying to roll off a roof with an eave height of twenty-five feet from grade...

Ground mounted ring, access door in the highest upright section of the "dome", think somewhere, I've see something similar, somewhere I'll have to have a hunt.
