handmade. Now you can enjoy with two friction controls on top of this bracket. I will clarify that the tripod is not for sale
* Built to last many years, smooth movements at high power
* Balance the telescope correctly and proceed to rotate the telescope with one or two fingers
* stainless steel shafts, the body is 6061T6 aluminum. Note that on the support plates there are two threaded holes separated for 35 mm between the centers for the installation of the clips that you have

Also refered to as the Sergio Bonilla, the S-B or SB mount is a great mount, I've had one for perhaps 10 or 15 years. It is a singular bargain, currently, in my opinion
It has substantial inherent load capacity but shows this best on a really solid tripod. I use a portable pier or a surveyors tripod, but (like any mount) tripod stability matters
Just be aware of your tripod and the base threading, I have to swap out various length M10 and 3/8-16 knobbed bolts depending on the tripod etc that I use.
If you have M10, ask about threading to match.
I use the off side for a sliding CW as described below and it really eases use. High power observations are feasible if leveled and balanced, and, personally, I never feel that slow motion cables are needed.
Coincidentally, while searching for other things both here and on ebay I posted just recently with more impressions within a brief review thread at

The mount looks very nice! That said it is a bit light on specs like weight of mount or suggested load (or does it mean 4 inch refractor/ C6 - both together? - I can't tell from the picture which models are mounted). Also price and purchase options are missing. Searching a bit leads to Astromart and eBay senio100?

Sergio,
I noticed on eBay the mount is listed for $280. Is the price $250 ordered directly from you? Don't you also sell an extension?

hello that's my SB Setup in the pic
its a Skywatcher ED100 with a Sky Max 127
i use the Skywatcher Dec Plate as it also has threading for a counterweight bar
i since have added a 3' inch pier from Sergio mounted on a AVX Tripod with a Hercules Adapter plate so as to clear the pole alignment pin
i must say i REALLY LOVE this dual mount .... im so glad i got this instead of a single arm mount !!!!
my preferred way of using is with a pair of Binos on the DEC plate and a Telescope of choice ( ED 100 ,Sky max 127,Celestron 8,ES ED 80 , AT 72 EDII )
i also got a Handle from Koki Kohuza ( the agena sells )
i also upgraded the shaft bar to one that can take AVX sized weights
this is my hands down favorite mount for Outreach as i can show a far Field wide angle from the binos and a close up thru the scope

Next clear nite I am goin to use Sergio’s pier with the Celestron AVX for the 1st time
I’ve been having so much fun using the SB Mount manually on the AVX Tripod that I had put away the AVX mount for a long time!!!!!!!!
I do have a Hercules Puck adapter than I had gotten previously….Not sure if it’s needed but it does give me additional height .my main reason for getting the pier was to be able to clear my balcony fence while not opening up the legs to its fullest

Well, I am another happy SB Mount owner. This thing is a work of art and functionally as smooth and as solid as my Stellarvue M2C. Beautifully hand machined. It has a dual braking system for altitude to make it easier to prevent any drift with extra heavy scopes. It easily holds a large amount of weight. I've had both my Meade 8" and my Meade 6" SCT's on it with accessories (approx. 26 lb. total) and the mount doesn't even know it's carrying anything, lol. Brother Sergio says it can hold a max of up to 80 lb. and I believe it. And with my Meade 8" SCT by itself, it isn't even close to needing a counterweight!
One thing that's brilliant about this design is that the 2 metal rings on the crossarm have a set screw that allows you to loosen them and adjust their position. This way, I can slide the crossarm over so my Meade 8" can be closer to the center of the head which results in even more stability and push my long refractor a little further away from the mount so it will clear the legs at zenith without the need for a column. That's a very useful option!
I'm very impressed with this dual mount and at 280 bones it's the best value I've ever seen. I highly recommend this mount even for people that aren't interested in a dual style mount. For use a single scope mount it's as solid as they come. Plus, you have the option to mount a second scope whenever the need arises. I love to do side by side comparisons with scopes and every time I have to carry out two mounts, one for each scope and then have a second set of legs to trip over, Finally, I have a heavy duty solid dual mount that can carry whatever I want, and it didn't cost me a fortune. Thank you, Sergio, for a solid quality product at a very good price!
