Hey all. I totally new to visual astronomy and managed to upgrade from a 70mm refractor ($150 Meade) to an LXD75 6” Newtonian with LXD75 mount. Was rigging up a lawnmower battery as a power supply and managed to reverse polarity and now the mount won’t power up. I’ve disassembled the unit and can’t locate any burned traces at this time. I’ve found the main board can’t be examined from all angles without desoldering the power switch which is my next step. Virtually no power seems to make it past the main switch when measured by multimeter, based on the contacts I can access at this time. Desoldering suction device coming soon in the mail, but not here yet. Looking for advice on fixing existing hardware or replacing with an open source solution.

I appreciate any and all input from all of you. Thank you very much in advance and clear skies to all of you.
