It’s funny, and ironic, in a way typical of many of us here. When I started this thread about a year ago I stated I’m now at ten and have fully and confidently decided to get no more.”

Well, I’m currently at twelve and don’t plan to get any more! lol.gif

3 is too many for me. Maybe go down to 1 scope again.  With my 12.5" Dob i just don't need anything else since it is so easy to roll out for a lazy guy like me. Has the best mirror you can wish for.  With 10 scopes i am gonna need a bigger boat and would have a hard time picking what scope to use each nite.

Very content here now

Thinking I could actually part with a couple more scopes but no rush

But I am okay with buying back some of my scopes if they need a new home as well

I think I am down to or is it back up to   12   again

Technically, you are minus one (-1) as of Sunday morning.

I just have two, a vintage Japanese achromat and a present day ED apochromat and refuse to buy anything else now that I'm fully retired and have considerably scaled back my observing to June-September due to weather constraints. Buying and selling gets awfully expensive with the ridiculous shipping costs nowadays!! I'm only keeping on hand what I know I'll use.

Hi everyone,

Before enlisting a pro for help I've got some useful information.

Since I have been occupied with a couple telescope projects I have not even looked at ads.

The extra time on my hands I'm really enjoying. I can use it now and I feel like on vacation.

Robert

Well, I have way more telescopes than what I need, or thought I would have maybe five years ago.  I'm definitely not acquiring any more, especially after the last one I got, a gorgeous Omegon 110 F6 with a carbon fiber tube.  Not a classic, but definitely fills the niche my ST120 did, only with about 2% of the CA at essentially the same focal length.  The ST120 is now retired; I'm going to give away most of the parts.

But I'm not really worried about having too many scopes at this point, I have plenty of time to let them go, so I'm in no hurry.  I'm maybe five years or so from retiring, and after that I'll have more time on my hands to enjoy the scopes and worry about sorting them out and finally deciding which I'm letting go.
