So about 6 days ago I posted a query in reference to my AZMP not slewing correctly.

Well many of you now know what happened.

I often remind others to check that little HC battery. I (we) often forget how long those things last.

Oh well, short story shorter. Had to order those little pesky things (cr2120) on Amazon. They arrived yesterday, installed, and all is working as it should.

A lesson for even the rest of us lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Good to know...

Its a shame the AZ Mount Pro Hand Controller does not have a "low battery" warning...

Maybe best to auto replace every X months/weeks?

I use the daylight changing over day as a reminder to change over my hand controller batteries as well as my smoke alarms thru the house.. it seems to work for me.

cheers

Took the mount out last night for a real test run with  my little C-6. After one star alignment and 2 "sync to targets" it put the dumbbell nebula and all other targets, smack dab in the center of ep's

The night was so successful I decided to put the MOD3 on for awhile.

Good feeling to have this one back in service as it is my favorite for star parties/outreach with my C-8/E on it.

My HBX suddenly showed two hours wrong. Changed battery and smack - my Mewlon 210 was right on target.

Hi Arne, yep pays to keep on top of this battery with the earlier models of this mount…not long ago  iOptron changed the hand controller circuit board to accommodate the larger in size battery holder , so those ones will last a lot longer than ours as we have the smaller battery.

Thats progress for you I guess.

cheers

Guess so, Graham. Like you I swap battery often.
