Russian refractor seems to have something in the middle of the lens?  What is this?

I was tempted, perhaps still, but there are other biscuits to knosh...
certainly interesting, though.

The Edmund eyepiece stuff went for a silly price.  I bid $57.  I do want a 15mm RKE and the barlow and erector would have just been cool additions to the collection.

Thanks, that's a great picture to discern from the Meade model 628. The 591 doesn't show up much. I stashed a copy of the picture.

I had a 15" F5 Tectron with a Galaxy mirror. The mirror was one of the best I have seen. Perfect star test in that baby. I don't think the Nova mirrors are as good.

Bob

My Galaxy was also very good in my 18" Obsession.  The Nova in my 18" Tectron was always half a turn of the knob to come to focus on a planet at high power. Lower power deep sky was ok.

Is this company serious?  "Unitron Telescope D60mm F900mm with Equatorial Mount" - “This telescope has been tested, cleaned and restored by our experienced technicians.” For $1,600.00 USD? Really? Come on!

I can see $1600 for a mint pre 1963 60mm if it is complete with a non fogged up lens. That one seems to be missing the dew cap chap.

Yes, I also had a 15" Nova mirror and it was a notch or so below the Galaxy I had in the Tectron.

About the 60mm Unitron   at 1600

I could see   300  or more for a good one    like the one in Wisconsin the other day    but    1600  is unrealistic

I  got a 3 inch complete kit mint 1959 Unitron 140  for 850   right here 3 years ago  from one of us    so  I just cannot understand this ad

and here we have one   a  3    inch model  bidding currently at 660.00

https://www.ebay.com...1.c100167.m2940

and also on ebay

1141.00   bin    or make offer  for another 3 inch

That’s way too much for just an OTA, and a late model branded Polarex to boot! I guess it’s because it’s in Europe and the Japanese scopes are rarer there?

Right   I did not look close enough   but  it is   ota only    which is way off  base    sans mount and tripod.....

FS-152       Think this is old enough to be a classic? Not sure    but the  FS  series is getting close to the age anyway

and discontinued long ago    so  maybe?

Carton "Mini 6" ?  (D=60mm, F=360mm, f/6 ...)   Kit for sale on Zen-Market ... https://zenmarket.jp...Code=1013881354

Objective needs cleaning, and the tripod legs appear to be quite short, but other than that, ??

There’s also a cool yellow one with a reasonable BIN price and maybe a cleaner objective.

Actually the FS-152 is one of the 6 inchers that you can actually carry around.  I think it's like 20 lbs. (the OTA).

Thanks ... strange that the cool yellow one doesn't appear in my search results on Zen-market for Carton Telescope ... but if instead I search Zen-market on the corresponding Japanese text:

カートン 望遠鏡

... then I see both the poorer condition white one *and* your cool yellow one, plus a few other Carton auction items that weren't showing up in my results before either.   Very interesting ... (and this probably explains how I managed to miss that Carton Super Nova EQ-mount plus 10cm reflector earlier this month until --- after the fact --- finding Bomber Bob's post ... https://www.cloudyni...ads/?p=11425433 ) - :

The white one has Carton in both English and katakana in the title. The yellow one only has it in katakana.
