No pictures of optics, but if they are good and everything works, this is a good deal for an 8inch  Meade 2080 at $249 near Phoenix.

It is Celestron Comet Catcher, a Schmidt-Newtonian. Looks clean, no pic of corrector. I like the tie-dye bands.

Reminds me of when I was a Hippie! The was when being a hippie meant Peace! Love! Then Charles Mansion came along and messed it up.

It comes with an Celestron 18mm ortho. Celestron included that eyepiece, at least with the orange tubs versions. Later version were black. It is an odd choice of eyepiece for this scope, since the design gives you wide view, and orthos do not.

Here is a post here on CN about them. There are a lot of posts on CN, I just picked one at random.

Edit: I quoted a Russell Smith and erased the wrong ebay listing!  Fixed it. Corrected. Terra below was right!

(Maybe I should have inquired sooner about that 7" Mak near Pittsburgh.

I did this morning, but it seems someone else is already OTW to pick it up tonight!   Oh well...)

Found this:  Tasco #10TE, RAO stamp, Erie, PA, asking $650

https://erie.craigsl...7364816092.html

(ps. As below, I figured that this was probably 2x-3x overpriced, but I'm completely ignorant of this stuff.)

Way over the top price. If that was in my area, I'd have to post mine both better and older for a big chunk less just to assist in congnitive awareness.

The poster may not have any idea of value.

Are you sure LGM? It looks like a regular 4” F10 Newtonian. The tube is loooong. No optical plate in the front. It’s a nice Newt tho!

Peace and Love Brother.

It is the OTA ONLY, No mount, worth less than 100. Starting price is about the value, asking price is nuts. It is Cometron version, Celestron's value offer for the Haley rush of the time, and the factory mount is a little less than the standard Polaris as well - IF it were included which it is not.

Mizar i think. I had the ALT- AZ version new in 1986 and the mount broke soon after i got it. Optics were dead sharp.

Wow, way collectable with all the original boxes. Most likely a great addition to a matching scope, but can't really tell because of one thing.  No mention if they are 1.25 or 0.965 inch. I can't tell from the ad. It is a nice set for whichever size they are, maybe someone can confirm the barrels.

It is a Mizar. These are very nice scopes, I have one complete. The posted one is missing the dew shield and spreader arms in the photos. They may be there but likely not as the photo spread looks competent. It is still a great bargain as of this posting, even with shipping cost. The finder has a bent eyepiece end, may be trivial. These are a decent well over $250 to $300 set complete with box. A missing dew shield and spreader set can be an easy 100 in hassle from being complete delivered, as would be the case with any missing major parts just for hassle to deal with.
