This is it people! It’s time to decide who the nPAE World Champion Astro Photographer 2021 is…

Will you choose the reigning champion, Boris from Chile with his “Grito Galactico” photo? Or maybe Lorand from Hungary who won the Northern Hemisphere this year with his amazing Andromeda shot, or perhaps you’ll vote for the Southern Hemisphere winner by Hugo from Argentina with his incredible all-seeing eye Helix nebula image!

You decide at this link. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 24th October.

We have a new World Champion! It was a big week of furious voting over on npae.net as both Boris from Chile and Hugo from Argentina rallied patriotic voting. Boris picked up the early votes by getting some announcements on the Chilean radio station RadioActiva! Awesome! But Hugo, undeterred by being a few hundred votes behind, engineering an amazing comeback to win with a margin of over 1,000 votes and total share of 60% of all votes cast. Amazing!

Well done to all 3 contenders in the World Championship public vote. To get into the vote is a massive achievement in its own right. And thanks to all those who voted to make this contest happen.

The final numbers are: In 3rd place with 68 votes (1.44%) is Lorand from Hungary with Andromeda. In 2nd place with 1,811 votes (38.43%) is Boris from Chile with Grito Galactico. And in 1st place with 2,833 votes (60.12%) is Hugo from Argentina with the Helix Nebula.

Congratulations Hugo! We look forward to learning more about you in the near future.

That’s all for the nPAE 2021 Astrophotography Competitions. Keep those optics polished and cameras tracking as we will be back, bigger and better than ever, in 2022.
