Hi All,

Somewhat better seeing last night allowed me to try my first animation of Saturn's moons.

Unfortunately, the gif is too large for the CN website, so here it is in a link to my Astrobin page.

Regards

Mark

Thanks for the likes and kind comments. I am hoping we might get more nights of good seeing here in Canberra after weeks of wretched conditions.

I just finished synthesizing the main image of Saturn from two six minute videos. Quite a lot of colour in the bands and the South pole is a pleasant blue:

Honest, Darryl, I have been toiling away for weeks, but have had nothing much worth posting here except with Venus and Mercury.  My Jupiters and Saturns I have posted to ALPO as a matter of record, in case they fill any gaps in the sequence, but they have been poor. Hopefully things will improve a bit now!

Regards

Mark

I understood that Mark - I noticed you in ALPO-Japan in the meantime & your experiences reflect our own to a large extent: like you we really hope that there is a bit of a sting in the tail & Jove turns on really good seeing before the end of this apparition - which will be here sooner rather than later...

Opposition was 11th June in 2019 & courtesy of Andrew he linked to a thread of a nice capture we got on 13th September that year - 94 days or 13.5 weeks after opposition.

2019 was a good year with Jove for us...but if you want some encouragement...with opposition this year on 19th August we might have anything up until 21st November or thereabouts..! fingerscrossed.gif bow.gifrofl2.gif
