Hi there,

I have some trouble with the ASI 178mc on the ASI Filter wheel reaching backfocus. Most ASI cameras can attach to the filterwheel without the 1.25" reducer (like the 174mm) and thus reach focus on my newton, but when you detach the 1.25" reducer from the 178mc, you are basically left with nothing to be able to couple it to the filter wheel. But with 1.25 adaptor, you are behind focus.

What am I missing here? How do you handle this?

Any idea how many mm you need in order to achieve focus ?
Not sure on your camera, if the M42 Ring on the front of the camera is removable, if so, you may be able to just get an adapter which could gain you another 7mm or so.  OR, a corrector that allows more backspace, OR, modifying the scope, OR another mod for the scope consisting of a new focuser.

Clear Skies !!
