The title pretty much summarizes my question.

I’m having trouble to connect my micro touch focuser to a Mac with Big Sur and KStars 3.5.5. All of the gear, except the micro touch focuser, can connect with no issues at all (mount; camera, and guide camera).

Seems to be a common problem, but I cannot find the solution.

Thanks,

Alfredo

It appears to be an unresolved issue per this indi forum topic.  I suggest posting this on the indi forum as that's where the developers hang out.

Yes, it seems an issue that has been for some time, since I posted the same question a long time ago in another thread on that forum.

When using Linux, all of the gear connects easily. On MacOS the focuser doesn’t.

First: I have no Mac, so cannot test.

But to be clear we're talking about this focuser https://starizona.co...tofocuser-wired ?

I do not see that listed in the INDI supported focusers at https://indilib.org/...sers/page1.html (nor on page 2), but there is indeed a driver for it, see https://github.com/i.../microtouch.cpp

You could try to mail the last developer listed there on line 3. (and don't bother Jasem on line 4 with this please, he has enough on his plate ;-) )

Alternatively you can enable debug logging for this driver and post those results on the INDI forum, ideally compare those when using the same driver on Linux if possible.

Well, I solved the issue.

First of all, the key was to download the USBtoUART Bridge VCP drivers from Silicon labs for MacOS:

CP210x VCP Mac OSX Driver from https://www.silabs.c...dge-vcp-drivers

Once installed, KStars detected the Microtouch focuser in Ekos.

Regards,

Alfredo

Make ensure you post this on their forums in the thread. It’ll help them out.
