I have the opportunity to purchase a Takahashi FTC-150 with the reducer, Optec TCF2 focuser, and FSQ60mm from the original owner. The asking price is 9900.00. I've seen where the FTC-150 has sold for anywhere between 7000-9000 some time ago but nothing in the past year.

My question is here is in today's market is the price to high or am I getting a good deal.

Thanks

THE FCT-150 is an amazing scope.  I bought one new years ago when they first came out in limited production.  They are rare even today.  The OTA is close to 50lbs.

I am not sure I have ever seen one in the $7k range as that is close to what FS-152's sell for.  With the added accessories, you are paying about $8700 for the OTA.  The price is fair IMHO.

Steve,

Thank you for the information. I have the Tak BRC-250 along with the C14 Edge HD. I'm trying to see where the FTC would fall in the line up.

It might not matter as the FTC-150 is rare scope that you just don't many being sold now a days.

That price is close to a used TOA150.  If it is mint and you got the money gent then go for it.
