Carbon Fiber Film to Improve Dobsonian AZ motion?

I wonder whether anyone tried using carbon fiber film (usually marketed for automotive use) as a friction surface for Teflon (or other) pads? Something like this.

I have seen textured Formica recommended. Carbon fiber film looks to me as it may be similar, but I have no experience with it.

Lazy Susan = not enough friction.  You have to add friction.  Lazy Susan bearings + dust = not good.

 

Premium Dobs use laminate-Teflon bearings.  

 

Carbon fiber is quite different than Ebony Star.
