Just picked up a minty M210. First light Is probably tomorrow.
I like Jasper’s side by side set up, and I might want to try that myself. Now the dumb question: in a SxS setup do both scopes see the same patch of sky or just patches that are close?
Thanks!

]I'm not sure if the GP mount will handle the M21 (even with the upgraded Tak tripod!). I will soon know.
GG
Looks like the GP may handle it. If not, surely your G11 will.

It wouldn’t be much use in my view if they didn’t see the same field. I do the same SxS setup using my 180c and my SV90TBV - a rich field viewer to the Tak … what I see in the SV is seen in the Tak.
Congrats on getting a 210.

I’m hopeful for the GP. The G11 is permanently mounted in the POD. It’s possible that the M210 could get promoted to the POD.

A SxS in the POD could be exciting! I had no idea if SxS would show the same field or not.

Yes it is. Also on the diagonal for eyepiece. Central Florida early summer is very dewey.

My M210 was a bit too shaky on my GP mount tonight. I will try again, probably tomorrow night; but it may have to move into the POD and meet the G11.

I set my Mewlon 210 up in the garage and fitted the Tak Collimation Telescope (TCT) using screw fittings into my ESATTO 2" Motorised Focuser. I then set up my camera and lens on a tripod with a ball head and kicked and nudged the tripod as best as I could to align the scope and camera optical axes and grabbed a shot.
The photo shows that a couple of the spider vanes are slightly tilted, there is some general lack of concentricity and that the Spider Vanes, when projected, do not intersect at the centre of the TCT.
However, some or all of this may be due to misalignment of the scope/camera optical axes.
I have marked some of the components and have yet to work out what the other circles are.
The last time I used the 'scope the star test was good.
Cheers
Dennis

I have a 180 Mewlon and an FS102, also a 15" Obsession, they all seem to get along and play well together even though one of them is not a Tak and 2 of them are not DK.

Is that a dew heater on the finder?
Yes. You can get them for all sorts of equipment including dslr cameras too. I don't know if they are made by Takahashi though.

Thanks. It’s not 100% guaranteed they’ll align exactly. On my iOptron AZ Mount Pro I have an adjustable second saddle, which allows precise adjustment. The AZ100 doesn’t normally, but I’ve just received a Rowan saddle adjuster, which should allow me to match them precisely.

From the most recent night out under the sky.. excellent planetary viewing session [mainly Jupiter].
Notice the lack of additional equipment [eyepieces, etc] on the tray? Nothing else was really needed..
Mewlon 210 -> Vernonscope Quartz -> TV 2x Powermate -> Takahashi 24 LE

Do you miss tracking at that magnification? I have always used driven mounts at that mag.
