The coating issues must impact views or what a camera may see.
Still, very cool. I'm a visual guy so having a chance to actually look through it would probably influence me one way or the other.

Looks like the same mount Televue used back in the 80's.

It is.  TV renamed it Systems Mount...

Meade 300 (Towa) 80mm f/15.  Looks to be in very good condition.  Many of these 80/1200 Towa objectives are superb.

Opens at $50.00

Buy It Now for  $125.00 + 42.65

Pricey?  Perhaps.  Not so much, if one is able to bypass shipping and fetch it in Fernley, Nevada.

Yes, that's a 0.965-inch (24.5mm) visual back.  Converting it to 1.25-inch format is not too difficult.  Not sure about a 2-inch conversion, but I would guess it's do-able (depends on tube diameter).

The 30mm finder will accept any standard 0.965 eyepiece.  -In fact, the finder eyepiece is installed in the diagonal.

Cheers.

Dan

The Meade 300 will not take a standard Vixen adapter. The pull tube is too small to fit a 1.25" barrel inside. This has to have a sleeve type adaption made to get to 1.25" eyepieces. There have been a lot of threads lately on doing an adaption, it just isn't going to be as easy as changing the end ring.

The BIN Price is very good.  Pretty sure these are the "last of the Towa 339 Series" produced, before Meade switched to Mizar.  The shipping posted is excessive for a lone OTA.

Several very good threads on converting these 30mm manual / coarse focus "pull-tubes" to 1.25" standard -- lots of options.  Or, get a Hybrid Diagonal.  Or, buy good quality new / used .965" accessories...  lots of them on ZEN Market and some CN vendors / members.

My Excellent 1978 Tasco-branded 339 gave me 1000s of hours of great views -- especially after I replaced the stock accessories with quality 1.25" stuff.

I think this is a Vixen 90mm f14.4 objective.

Blue version (Carton) of TeleVue's black-painted "System" mount.  But TeleVue's actual first mount was a largish Tasco-type mount you could get for the Renaissance.

Criterion 6"? - looks clean, "new in box"
$150 near Columbus
https://www.facebook...421286013031884

I tried to pick this up for the last two days. My daughter's friend is looking for a telescope, and this would be perfect. Plus, it looks immaculate.

The first message I sent, I suggested a meeting place. The seller said it was too far for them, which is understandable. I sent two other messages asking for their opinion on a spot to meet. They never answered any further messages.

Oh well. Hope somebody grabs it.

Somebody got an excellent buy on the C.O.C ...$82

Here's a C.O.C. 60 x 910 kit that looks fairly complete.  Pickup only in Sacramento

(SGW has mostly fixed their website.  It's still less efficient than the old one but only mildly)

Great deal would've been the planned snipe @ $75~$85, then I saw it posted here. oh well, BIN. Got a nice discount which nearly made up the difference. 1 more 339 project can be finished.
