That one has several features like mine. The mount is the short lived first version of the plastic knobbed mount. Likely only made from late '57 thru '58. They are sort of a hybrid having a wide base like the early mounts but with the slow motion controls on both sides like all the later ones. They also use chrome wingnuts to attach the tube cradle.

Here's a photo for comparision.

Left is a typical 114 mount from about the late 60s with the '57-58 type on the right

Never heard of Baytronics but for that price if I was close I would give it a try.

About the worst scope you could buy.

Depending on the glass, that might not be bad for a refigure job.

Chris, your wide-tine mount looks exactly like the one from my late 50s (~1958?) 140 mount.

It is not everyday you run across an “Astrcnomical Telescope”.

The RV-6 & Orange C8 are definitely worth a look-see.  I'd drive 90 mins to check out that RV-6 -- if I wanted one...

I'd  risk it for the cost of a cheap dinner.

Sad that the Altair is listed with clouded and moldy optics.  Is that cleanable or does it mean coatings are damaged?

Yep and about 10 meters long.
I'm thinking some fine University or Science Center migt like it in their lobby.

Price negotiable.  - Check.
Not sure what "museum quality" means.

Wow, what a scope:

Polarex / Unitron 136 F photo-equatorial for sale in Växjö, south-central Sweden. OTA: 127mm x 2000mm, Guide scope: 75mm x 1200mm, Finder: 10 x 40.
Clockwork drive in the pedestal. Astro-camera attachment. Seller says it was bought by their father in the 1970s and still works perfectly today.

Seller is asking SEK 95,000, which is just over $11,000 USD at today's exchange rate.

https://www.blocket....leskop/96430972

My sister-in-law lives on a farm in a rural area of southern Sweden about 100 km south of where this scope is for sale. If we lived there now I would be on my way to Växjö with a van or trailer. On the other hand, if we lived there now I probably wouldn't have the cash.

It's actually a E. Popp Maksutov and Popp used Polarex finders, finder rings, and focusers.

They can sell for 15k easy if near mint and complete.

oops: The instrument structure for BBXRT is 4.1m long and 1m in diameter, and weighs 840 kg.  (holds 2 x 3.8m x 40cm co-aligned (fancy-fancy) X-ray scopes plus...)  bet it's a pita to collimate, 'grazing angles' and all that...
