Hello, all.
Dave, near Albany, N.Y.
Recently retired and rekindling an interest in exploring the night sky.
I know Covid has caused a lot of in-person group activities to be curtailed, but it would be great to meet some locals who can maybe help me get pointed in the right direction with the hobby, so to speak.
I picked up a couple of inexpensive used telescopes on Craigslist (a cheap reflector on a somewhat wobbly EQ mount and an old refractor on an alt-az mount) to get my feet wet. I hope to upgrade at some point.
Currently interested in visual observation, but hoping to expand into AP once I gain traction.
Other interests over the years have been hiking, cycling, tennis, RC aircraft, and amateur radio.
So any astronomy activities going on in the Albany area?
