Does the 6.3 reducer used with SCT’s and Mak’s  work with imaging or is it for visual use only?

It works both for visual use and for imaging.

The (previously available) 3.3 reducer was for imaging only.

Thanks, Does it need to be a certain distance from the sensor, say 55mm?

Everything I've read about the celestron f/6.3 says that it needs 105mm of back focus.
