I picked up an ETX-90 EC last week.  This is one of the “early” ECs with the fork similar to the OG non-computerized mount.
This ETX has unknown history , but it looks to be in excellent to near new / original condition.

However , the ALT axis is quite noisy and I detect a bit of backlash with the AZ axis.

I compared the noise with a $99 ETX-60 Costco special , and the 60 sounds much cleaner.

I’m thinking the ETX-90 mount needs a tuneup.   Is this fairly easily doable?

I used to have an ETX-90 non-EC (sold it when the EX came out) and always wanted to get the EC version but never pulled the trigger (other projects).   Recently I got the hankering to get one, and found one for an acceptable price.
It will pair well with the ETX-60.
