I grew up in Plymouth. Used to observe on the moor quite often.

I'm jealous of your sky view. I live in southern England. We never see sky anymore. Just clouds.

What is the tripod on the right, a Manfrotto?

Viewing Jupiter from my Brooklyn rooftop with the TV85.

We had our first kid about 18 months ago, and it's not often the stars align and I'm able to take the scope up to the roof. But it's always a blast when I do smile.gif

A gold star to anyone who can guess my neighborhood based on the context clues in the photo.

How do you like how it handles your TV85?

I've used a few different combinations of mount and tripod, and I find this combo (with the M2 mount) to be ideal for this class of scope. Too much bigger and you lose some of the benefits of a small scope. It works with a 4" refractor but is not quite as stable as I would like. A Porta II head on the Report is OK with the TV85, but the M2 is better.

Just WOW! This Siebert Super Star Splitter (S3) might make me change my mind about the Apollo 11 being my favorite solar eyepiece.

Wonderful detail. Entire solar disc.

A long time ago, I had this custom made to be the exact magnification in between whatever eyepieces I had at that time. Might be the only 10.9mm S3 in existence.

Updated photo of Antares 127 F/6.45 prototype in its new home in the boonies...made a nice wooden handle seen between the rings. Always good to have something to hold onto putting the scope on and off the mount.... especially later in the dark.

Refractor6,    That’s a pretty telescope.

What is the focuser?  It resembles a Moonlight.

Thanks Agatha.....smile.png .....  quite correct a Moonlite CF1-AR5 focuser put on pretty much right after I got the scope some 20 years back.  Moonlite stopped selling these a few years ago.....vintage like the owner...wink.gif

Here is my New-to-me 4"f15 Clone-itron, with a unitron objective and modern focuser/rings/brackets. The guide scope is 50mm f10 and the whole assembly rides on a Losmandy G11.

They were an option when I bought the mount.

A used Meade 152 F/8 is a similar scope made by the same company Jinghua who made the 5"+ 6" Antares achros back in the day.....only option available unfortunately since ES only sells the F/6.5 version made by the parent company Jinghua at present and Meade's out of business.

The problem with all 6" refractor i found is the shipping, if the shipping is free or very low then i can get one while ago or soon, but i still try to find something cheap so with shipping it won't cost much as total, and i still say i want a brand new.

Well maybe TS in Europe still sells the F/8 version or Maxvision?  Worth checking into since since Meade's no longer selling them since going under so maybe somebody else is if they're still being produced...good luck on the hunt!
