No, I don't have a list. But please post telescope brands and models that you know as a fact that this adapter works and equally important does not work. It should be a useful resource.

As this is a project to create a list, please keep other discussion to a minimum. I know for some of you that's asking a lot--just look at some of my posting!  lol.giflol.gif

These may help:

Chuck Hards 1.25" thread on adapters:      https://www.cloudyni...ractors/?hl=125

Bomber Bob's Japanese refractor registry: https://www.cloudyni...y#entry11550821

Vixen adapter Works:

  • Monolux 4380 60mm (APL, Hiyoshi, SYW Yamamoto, etc.)
  • Shrine Manon 60mm (APL, Hiyoshi, SYW Yamamoto, etc.)
  • Mayflower 814 60mm (assume the same as above)
  • Mayflower 816 (SYW Yamamoto, 80mm, F/15)
  • ATCO #1253, 60mm f/15
  • Swift 814 (77mm, F/13)
  • Meade (Mizar) 295 (60mm),
  • Meade (Mizar) 310 (80mm)
  • Sears 6433 (SYW Yamamoto, 76mm f/15, no pullout draw tube)
  • Orbit 2250 (SYW Yamamoto, 50mm f/20, no pullout draw tube)
  • Tasco 7TE, 7TE-2

*Sorta works - Royal Astro (RAO) scopes in general, if they have a pullout draw tube:

  • Sears 6339, 6339a (76mm, f/16)
  • Tasco 10TE's (76mm, f/16)
  • Tasco 7TE-5 (60mm, f/15) (I'm guessing here...)

* 36.4mm adapters won't thread into the 30mm diam. pull out drawtube, but the focuser tube - the one with the focuser rack - has 36.4mm threads, so the Vixen adapter will thread onto the focuser tube, but it won't come to focus without about 6-8" of extension tubes.

Don't work:

  • Towa scopes ("circle T") lots of brands...Jason, Sears, JC Penney, etc.

Vixen adaptor works on these telescopes.

~1962 Scope Orbit 2258 60mm f/20 (SYW)

1959 Soligor 60mm f/20 (RAO)

1959 Tasco 7T 304x 60mm f/15 (RAO)

1958 Space Scope 151 60mm f/15 (RAO)
???? Bushnell Sky Chief JR 60mm f/11.6 (BOL)

1956 Micronta 50mm f/10 (RAO)

1961 Swift 839 60MM f/13.5 (AMA)

Fits:

1958 Tasco 60/910mm 227 (RAO?)

1958 Bushnell Sky Chief 60/910mm (RAO?)

Swift Aerolite 859  (Carton)

Swift 839 (AMA)

Celestron (Vixen) C60 one of the few 60s that comes with one.

Kenko (60/710mm) TA-710 (Circle K)

Mizar SP-68R 68/1000mm (+ a bunch of other Mizars like those from Meade)

Just by seeing the size of the rack tube you can usually tell what scopes they will fit.

Generally scopes with a pull tube don't.

Might be easier to only list which ones it won't fit. wink.png

Doesn't fit:

Penncrest 60/1000

Tasco 9TE

Crescent (Towa)

Any Towa (Sears, Jason, etc.) that has a focuser similar to the ones shown below

Penncest-focuser.jpg

Crescent-Tasco-Focusers.jpg

I don't think there's a single Towa that it will fit!

Since this thread is about adapters.  Here’s the size difference between the Vixen and Unitron adapters.  The Unitron adapter is on top.

I just use a hybrid diagonal on my Towa model 339 and this lets me use 1.25" eyepieces. Works splendidly!

The adapter will fit Tasco 7TE and 7TE-2 scopes, but not the 7TE-5.

It will fit the Swift's 838, 839, and 831.

Doesn't fit RAO Sears 6335, RAO Tasco 7 te-5, Swift 863

Also does not fit the Sears 6339A or Asahi-Pentax 60/800.

It does work with the Mizar GT-80s.

Bushnell Sky Rover and other RAO/AO 50mm scopes.

Vixen 50mm finders with helical focusers

Vixen 70mm finders with push-pull drawtubes.

It's a bummer because just 2 years ago, these were available from Japan for $15, now $25

It is a bummer because I have $75.00 tied up in adapters that so far I cannot use.  I do however have a C.O.C/Monolux 60/1200 enroute that perhaps one of these adapters will work.

If it's like other Cartons (excluding beginner models)  a Vixen should fit.

I don't remember ever seeing a 60/1200, did you mean 60/1000?
