Some of you are aware that astrophotography and editing are just some of my creative pursuits. I also paint, though rarely do astronomically themed work. I was out a few years ago photographing the Moon with nearby Venus near twilight, and the lens I was using left a large empty space between the two, so I decided (despite not being religious at all) that the steeple of the Calvary Bible Church on Derry, NH brought the scene together and had a wonderful "Edward Hopper" feel to it, that I had to paint the scene someday. I finally got around to it last year. Hope you all enjoy it. The earthshine was strong that morning. This is also fairly large- 3x4' and will be in a show of landscape paintings I've scheduled at the New Hampshire Art Association gallery in Portsmouth, NH this coming May.
