Carl should.

I hope so. I just sent an email asking if he sells secondary mirrors. Instead of buying a solar scope, I'm thinking of replacing my factory mirror for a Zambuto mirror.

Thank you! I'm hoping that if I mail him the mirror craddle or whatever you call it, that he will mount it for me to make sure it is in there properly so it won't be off center. I'm not good at all at putting mirrors back in their holders. I would gladly pay extra for this service.

I truly doubt that he will ship you a mirror in the cell. He doesn’t even want to see the cell if all you are doing is sending him a mirror for recoating. I’m not even sure what you mean by making sure it is properly centred. It’s not all that complicated to place a mirror into its cell then put the clips back.  You can do this.

Yes, but he is now cautioning an 18 month delivery estimate for current orders.  See his website (Mirror pricing page) for details.

That's ok, I can wait for one of his mirrors. grin.gif Perfection cannot be rushed.

I'm ordering one of his mirrors. The factory mirror that came with the Orion XT10 Plus will find a new home, free of charge, if anyone wants it. I'll give it a shot. When it comes to the top of the line astronomy stuff, I'm like Jay Leno is with his cars.

If he is still making mirrors with the optional quartz substrate I highly recommend it. It acclimates almost immediately and gives unbelievable views all night long seemingly unaffected by the falling temperatures.

Best regards, Richard

Thanks for the tip. I will keep that in mind. He does have a page about quartz mirrors. I will ask them about it when I order it.
