These are our pictures from around 8am this morning using a Lunt 40 and ASI178MC camera. Lots of prominences and ARs 2934, 2935 and newly named ARs 2936 and 2937. Much cooler at 8am

We tried to centre the disk over the centre of brightness this time, rather than the centre of the image and it seems to have been an improvement.

Have to say I’m impressed, I wasn’t aware you could get such detailed full disc shots from a 40mm.

Thanks Warren.  Your ideas and assistance have helped greatly and are much appreciated.

Today we actually found another improvement we can apply in our processing using GIMP.

Inadvertently we mucked up the layers and there is some of the higher exposure prominence image showing through the main disk.

Just beautiful, the black and white shows the interesting flux tubes that were emerging from the more northern pair of sunspot/dipoles. I was observing them that day too, very cool!
