This is the second Rendering of the January Wolf Moon . Has anybody noticed the pale frosty cast to the moon this month?
It looks much more pale and the mare seems almost transparent perhape it's because the way the Moon and Sun are oriented this time of year.
In this portrait of the Moon I tried to paint using pale whites ,Grey's,& some hints of cool blue .This was painted directly at the eyepiece from my bedroom window, I have made a mark on the wall using my compass for acurate polar allignment plus a few drift alignment runs..
This was painted on smooth cold press watercolor board initially the details were sketched lightly with a 2h pencil then painted with Grumbacher Academy Watercolors & Grumbacher Guashes white & grey backround was airbrushed with Mars black Acrylic.
