I agree with semlin, that's what I would do, make the rear thumbscrew hole into a slot, extending it toward the inside. Use a round file like a chainsaw file, or a drill with side pressure.

Looking for a Celestron #93515 single axis RA drive for an older CG3 equatorial. This is the kind that drives the 2" spur gear attached to the RA worm gear and doesn't connect directly to the shaft.
Thanks,
George

I will soon be needing components for a Meade series 400 refractor.
Missing the original mount I do know, and what ever else is needed I'll be posting later.
What ever you have will be of interest, so dig into your forgotten boxes, etc.

I'm looking for the front objective lens cover (dust cap) for a Celestron/Vixen C102F refractor. When I bought mine several years ago, that part was missing, and a Lens Coat hoodie has done a nice job of protecting it, but I sure would like the OE cap.

All - this thread is specifically for asking for parts, bits and bobs, pieces, etc. and should NOT be used to ask for a complete telescope/mount/unicorns/etc. That kind of stuff goes to the Classifieds in a want ad.
Basically, "keep it real and be realistic" here with your asks, and remember that we're testing this thread as it's a first for CN, and are watching the responses closely
Thanks!

Hello everyone! I’m looking for the azimuth knob and shaft for a Unitron 114 mount. I purchased the mount last year from a much loved member here. He fabbed up a great solution though I wouldn’t mind finding the original part.
Thanks for reading!

I recently received a Unitron Model 150 with the old style Alt-Az yoke mount...in good shape except that two of the tripod legs are missing the pins where the wooden shelf/spreader mounts to the tripod...
Each pin end is threaded to receive what looks to be a circular nut with holes for a spanner wrench to tighten them...any donation or info as to where I can find them will be much appreciated!
thanks, John,

Looking for a Unitron part for the 60mm altaz tripod. The little metal bracket that goes on the top of the lower leg section. A chain hooks to it to keep the legs from spreading. Only need one. Thanks.
So THAT'S how it works!

That bracket is for the metal tray. It has a slot that slips over the tab on ends of the "arms". I'll see if I can get a picture of mine when I get home and post it. You'll find that a chain probably won't stay on that tab of the bracket.

I have the same bracket on my 50mm model 105's. Mine came with chains and I've seen a chain used on others. The chains on mine have matched the kind in other pictures. This is not an official chain claim. Maybe the chain was a popular common replacement variety for frequently lost arms. Somewhere there is a chain for an arm and a leg. Ouch.

Hello and thanks for this column. I am in need of one Vixen focuser plastic knob. They seem to be on many scopes by Celestron ,Orion that were manufactured by Vixen. The one I have is a Orion VX-80. Do not need the screw. Thank You.

If you look on the other side, Vixen knobs will have a V mark...

This is a vixen knob, with the V marked inside.I just don't know if it's a match to what J needs.

I wasn't doubting its authenticity, just remarking on the cool tidbit of the internal V.
I also grew a collection of 1.25" drawtube plugs with Vs on them because they look cool. Now I've moved on to the Takahashi aluminum ones because they are even cooler looking...

I'm looking for the original .965" visual back for a Sears 6335 76/1200. I thought it was in the box when I put the scope in storage nine years ago but apparently the gremlins got it. BTW, this is the pale green one.

The haint blue 6335 Sears (it exists!) ? That will be hard to find, but I found a paint that is a good match for my 6344 - with some mixing in of white it will be an excellent match. I plan to repair a scratch on my 6344. There is also a really pale 6336, same OTA, different color - and a silver and black 6335. The haint blue one was transitional between the silver and black one and the haint blue 6344. Should be easy enough to find the black Tasco 10TE visual back, same OTA. It's phenolic and will take paint nicely.
