No worries. Yep it works really well. The handset is pretty nice too.

Has anyone found an adapter for the Pegasus NYX-101 that works with a flat tripod plate/pier?

It looks like the NYX-101 requires an adapter plate on the bottom for the azimuth dowel, so it can't be bolted directly to the flat top of a tripod.  So, that adapter plate has to be able to connect to a tripod -- it seems to have 5 holes on a circle of undetermined diameter.  Most importantly, that plate is NOT flat on the bottom for some reason, which means it won't connect properly to a flat pier.  Or in my case, the flat plate for my tripod's extension pier.

I have asked Pegasus about this, but if anyone can shed some light on how they made the connection, that would be helpful.  I had expected something simpler like the AM5, Rainbow Astro, WarpAstron, and Skywatcher which can all be bolted directly to a tripod plate/pier.  Perhaps this is why Pegasus offers a package that includes a tripod for the same price as the mount itself.  This is very nice, but not the solution I am looking for.

Did you look at the mechanical drawings on the Pegasus web site.  Good info there.

Yes I did.  That where the information in my post comes from.

Here is a link to the specs:  https://pegasusastro...-ADAPTER-V1.jpg

Does this help ?

He fitted the bottom plate of the pier extension kit "Upside down" with a central bolt.

That is very helpful, particularly to see the pieces in a photo.  But unfortunately it won't work for my setup.  Thank you though.  This was much more helpful than the manual.

OK, you are welcome.

I have the stock CF Tripod and the standard Pier Extension additional parts.  So in my case the bottom plate that came with the tripod was fine.

If you need any photos I can take them.

Ok this is officially cool.  Just saw this posted on the Pegasus FB page.  They mention it will fit numerous mounts including, obviously, the 101.

Can anyway provide the dimensions for the holes placement on the power saddle? I’d like to get one and put it on a Losmandy plate to use with my dual solar scope setup.

Hi Guys,

I use my NYX-101 for Deep Sky imaging but for June, with my new SW Heliostar 76 Ha refractor, i would like use my NYX in Altaz mode for solar imaging.

Did you try and test the Altaz tracking of the NYX-101 for the Moon or the Sun ?

Thanks.

Florent

Hey folks,

This may seem like a silly question but for alt-az star alignment should I start leveled and pointing toward the north horizon or leveled and then pointing up toward the NCP (i.e. Polaris)? The manual seems to say both.

Thanks,

Wade

Has anyone gotten this mount to fit on a ZWO tc40 tripod? I already have an extra one and am interested in this but would rather avoid buying whats essentially the same tripod.

George from Pegasus clarified that for altaz alignment, the scope/mount need only be level and pointed to the north horizon.
